Whether you like sightseeing, visiting old world villages, enjoying the arts in St Ives and Newlyn, visiting the famous open air, cliffside Minack Theatre at Porthcurnow, shopping in Truro or visiting the Daphne du Maurier centre in Fowey - whatever your choice --- Cornwall is Unique!
And Cornwall's coastal waters are world famous for surfing, sailing, scuba diving and all the water sports. Take lessons in dinghy sailing, yacht sailing, windsurfing - or bring your board and just go with the flow! The sailing clubs and schools will all make you welcome - and there is always a picturesque, welcoming restaurant or inn just around the corner - try the thatched 14thC inn called the Pandora at Restronguet Creek (named the Pandora by the Navy Captain who was sent to the Pacific ocean to bring back the mutineers of HMS Bounty). The setting, the beer and the food are all excellent!.Picture above right is of Nick, Mike's No1 son, sailing in Carrick Roads, just off St Mawes Castle and opposite Falmouth harbour - another hard day at the office!
Beyond the perfect beaches, like Porthcothnan, is a spectacular landscape of dizzy cliffs and purple heather moorland, with wooded valleys, and hidden coves close by. Enjoy swimming in the rock pool at Treyarnon, or picnicing on the grass above the bay. Take a leisurely lunch in an inn or restaurant in Padstow, then stroll down beside the estuary to the beach opposite the doombar. Cycle or walk the Saints Way from Padstow to Fowey, or take the Camel Trail up the Camel estuary. Sample the Woodland Walk/Cycle Ride from Pentewan to St Austell, or try the Mineral Tramway through ancient mine workings(no trams now!) from Devoran up to Twelveheads, through Scorrier and down to Portreath. And work is now complete on the dedicated, completely off-road cycleway from Landsend to Bude via Pentewan on the south coast or Newquay on the north coast.
Visit St Michael's Mount, the little sister of Mont St Michel and the home of the St Levan family.
Look around Mousehole, and perhaps sample the Starrygazy Pie. Inspect the Tate Gallery at St Ives. Take the ferry or helicopter to the Scillies - there's 'Something for Everyone!'
